Suspected Arson Attack, Wallasey

Merseyside Police can confirm an investigation is underway following a suspected arson attack in Wallasey this morning (Friday, 23 November).

Emergency services were called to the disused Kohler Daryl factory on Alfred Road at about 3.50am to a report of a fire. Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the blaze. The fire has caused significant damage to the premises and is thought to have started between 1am and 4am this morning.

No one was injured.

A joint Merseyside Police and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service investigation is ongoing, house-to-house enquiries are underway and CCTV is being sought from the local area.

DC Michael Fletcher, said: “This was a reckless and dangerous act that has caused significant and costly damage.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact us so we can take action against those responsible and put them before the courts.”
