Police Support Road Safety Week of Action

November 19, 2012, 3:16 pm

Roads Policing Officers from West Yorkshire Police are doing their bit for Road Safety Week which starts on Monday.

Road Safety Week is a national initiative and was set up by Brake in 1997 and gives organisations an opportunity to promote road safety in their community, school or company.

West Yorkshire Police are taking part and will be carrying out various operations throughout the week across the county.

Inspector Joanne Field of the Roads Crime Team and Major Collision Enquiry Team, said:

“Road safety is a very serious issue for West Yorkshire Police, I would urge every road user to put safety first.

“Officers are always out and about educating motorists about their driving standards, condition of their vehicle and general road safety and this week gives the force an extra opportunity to spread the message.”

More information on the work of the police during Road Safety Week will be released over the coming days.
