Man remanded on girlfriend GBH charge

A man has been remanded in prison on suspicion of attacking his teenage girlfriend in a jealous rage and leaving her with a deep gash across her forehead.

The 22-year-old appeared before Coventry magistrates this morning (Nov 14) to hear claims he repeatedly punched his partner during a row about messages posted on her Facebook page.

He is charged with GBH against the 17-year-old girl on October 21 at a Days Hotel bedroom in Radfords Holyhead Road.

The man, from the Stoke area of Coventry, also faces one count of theft and common assault against the same teenager on November 8 when its alleged he grabbed her mobile phone from her as she walked to work.

Magistrates remanded him into custody; he will next appear at Coventry Crown Court on February 25 next year.
