Police have issued moving footage of a man they want to speak to after a man was glassed outside a Salford Quays bar.
The 32-year-old victim works at the Lime Bar, Lowry Outlet Mall, and was enjoying a break when the attack happened.

He was sitting outside with friends when offender emerged from the bar, walked passed the outside table where the victim and his friends were drinking. He went to snatch the victim’s cigarettes from the table and when he remonstrated, he hit the victim in the face with a pint glass.

The victim suffered some deep cuts to the head, for which he had now received treatment.

Minutes earlier, the offender had been ejected from the bar after he drunkenly snatched the microphone from the hand of a woman who was about to sing. He started singing his own song before being asked to leave by the manager.

Police have now issued footage of him singing.

The incident happened shortly after 11.30pm on Friday 21 September 2012.

Officers have been carrying out inquiries and circulated images of the offender locally, but now need a wider witness appeal.

Detective Constable Steve Robinson, of Swinton CID, said: “This victim was taking a well-earned break when he was victim of a completely unprovoked attack.

“The offender was clearly drunk and aggressive, as can be seen by his antics in the bar in the minutes before the attack.

“I want to reassure people that this type of incident is rare at Salford Quays.

“I now want people to take a good look at the images we have issued and let us know if you recognise this man.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Swinton CID on 0161 856 3512 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
