Man bailed following taxi driver assault

A man has been bailed in connection with an assault on a taxi driver over the weekend.

The 44-year-old taxi driver was taken to hospital with a serious head injury following the assault on Bristol Road South, Birmingham in the early hours of Saturday (17 November).

He remains in hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and was later bailed pending further enquiries.

Police urge anyone with information in relation to the incident to come forward and contact detectives in the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Birmingham, by dialling 101, or speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
