Coleman Street, burglary

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to a burglary in Southend in which thieves set fire to the house upon leaving.The break-in happened when a flat on Coleman Street was entered between 3-9pm on Saturday, November 24. Several toys, clothing, mobile telephones, jewellery and electrical equipment were taken. A few hours later in the early hours of Sunday morning, someone has tried to set fire to the property, but failed. The fire and rescue service were not required for the scorch mark on the carpet.

Anyone with information in connection with this burglary is urged to contact detectives at Southend police station on 101.
