CCTV images released following attempted robbery in Saltney

Police have released CCTV images of a man they are keen to speak to in connection with an attempted robbery in Saltney.

At about 7.50pm on Thursday 22nd November, a man entered the McColls newsagent on Chester Street armed with a kitchen knife.

He demanded money from the till and when the shopkeeper refused, fled the scene.

No one was injured in the robbery but staff were left shaken by their ordeal. The man did not take anything.

He is described as being in his early 20s, between 5′6″ and 5′9″tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black jacket with the hood up, black gloves, dark grey tracksuit bottoms anddark coloured trainers. The lower half of his face was covered with a red scarf. He spoke with a local accent.

Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101quoting incident number 988 of 22nd November 2012.
