A woman in her 90s was the victim of a bogus workman at her home in Dunblane. Police are appealing for information.

The incident occurred on Monday November 19 at around 10.30am in Roman Way. The woman handed a three-figure sum of money to a man who said he would do some work in her garden. The man did not carry out the work and did not return.

Police are keen to trace him and he was described as around 5″6, in his 40s of a slim build and was wearing dark clothes.

A Central Scotland Police spokeswoman said “We advise that you always verify identification from cold callers and if they are suspicious, contact the police.”
