Body discovered in park – Ipswich

An area of Chantry Park in Ipswich has been cordoned off after a mans body was found by a member of the public this morning, Thursday 15 November.

Police received a call reporting the discovery at 6:50am. Officers attended the park and a scene has been put in place.

The death is being treated as suspicious.

A 42-year-old man from Ipswich has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He has been taken to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where he awaits questioning.

Police are making inquiries in order to identify the deceased and a post mortem will be held in due course.

Anyone with any information in relation to this incident is asked to contact the Major Investigation Team at Suffolk Police on 101.
