November 20, 2012, 12:42 pm

Police are appealing for witnesses after two burglaries in Morpeth.

Overnight between Friday night, November 16, and Saturday morning, November 17, at a farm at Mitford, an IFOR Williams trailer worth £1,000 was stolen from a barn.

Then over the same time period, at a farm at Glororum, a silver IFOR Williams trailer, model LMI26G, worth about £1,000 was also stolen from a barn.

Morpeth Neighbourhood Sergeant Sharon Wilmore-Greaves said: “We believe these two crimes are linked and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who saw suspicious activity in the areas to contact police.

“In particular, we’d like to hear from anyone who has been offered the trailers for sale or who has information about where they are.

“We’re carrying out extensive enquiries and would like to reassure people that we continue to work hard to tackle thieves and burglars in the area.”

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191, or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
