Aggravated burglary arrests

Police investigating an aggravated burglary in Northumberland have arrested three men.

Northumbria Police detectives, with support from Durham Constabulary and Greater Manchester Police, today (Wednesday, November 28) executed search warrants in the Durham and Manchester areas.

A 47-year-old man was arrested in the Manchester area and two men aged 48 and 28 were arrested in the Durham area on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. The arrested men are currently in custody and are helping police with enquiries.

The arrests relate to an incident on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, when three men broke into a house in Capheaton and tied up and threatened the occupants. An amount of jewellery and a car was stolen.
