West Yorkshire: Multi Agency Day of Action, Halifax

Calderdale police joined partner agencies in a day of action in Halifax on Wednesday 19 September.
Officers from Halifax Central Neighbourhood Policing Team joined VOSA (Vehicle and Operator Services Agency) and HMRC (HM Revenue and Customs) in the Salterhebble Hill and Boothtown Road area.
The day was aimed at cracking down on metal theft, theft from motor vehicles and traffic offences.

Officers checked a number of vehicles.
65 Vehicles were stopped
• 1 vehicle was seized for no insurance
• 2 drivers were reported for not having a licence / insurance
• 1 fixed penalty notice for no MOT
• 1 fixed penalty notice for a registration plate not conforming
Sgt Warren Pitman from the Central NPT, said:
“The day was all about having a visible presence in the area so motorists trying to break the law knew they had nowhere to hide.
“It was important to work with our partners to ensure we could make a real impact.
“We also offered crime prevention advice.”
A number of vehicles were tested by HMRC and VOSA.
