West Midlands: Fire leaves victim homeless – Coventry

A cabin cruiser which was destroyed by a fire leaving its owner homeless is being investigated as arson by police.

It is believed that the fire happened sometime between the 3pm on 5 September and 12pm 10 September.

The 26ft blue and red cruiser was moored on the Oxford Canal Sowe Common Bridge on Shilton Lane, when the attack took place.

The damage was so extensive the owner can no longer live on the boat.

Police are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who can help with the investigation to come forward.

PC Craig Leach, from the Investigation Team at Coventry LPU, said: “The extensive damage to this boat has meant the owner can no longer live there. The owner’s belongings and clothing have all been destroyed.”
