West Midlands: Distraction thieves target elderly woman for pension

Detectives in Solihull have released CCTV images of three people they would like to speak to in connection with a theft from an elderly lady.
It is believed the theft took place shortly after the 82-year-old woman withdrew her pension from the post office on Station Road, Balsall Common, Solihull at around 10am on Thursday 30 August.
It is alleged that the victim was approached by a woman who distracted her by asking for directions while another man and woman stole her pension book, money and bank card from her purse.

The woman who approached the victim is described as white, slim and in her teens. She had dark straight shoulder length hair, 5’3″-5’7″ tall and was wearing light coloured clothing.
Detective Constable Ian Atherley, from Solihull police station, said: “This is clearly a targeted attack by a group of individuals who clearly knew what they were doing.
“We are appealing to the public for information which will bring the suspected thieves to justice”
