South Yorkshire: Police appeal following robbery

Police investigating an alleged robbery in Doncaster are appealing for information from the public and for witnesses to come forward.

The incident occurred around 3.50pm near a cash machine on Heavens Walk in Doncaster on Sunday, 16 September 2012. It is believed a woman arrived in a car with two other people parked up and when she has got out of the car to go to the cash machine she has been approached by a man, who has then threatened her with a weapon and made demands for money. The man has then left on a motorbike with a quantity of money. No one was injured during this incident.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’7-6’0 tall, wearing black gloves and dark coloured clothing.

Police officer Della Leasley said: “Incidents of this nature are rare. Enquiries are progressing well but I am appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information”.
