Appeal for information following a number of arson attacks

September 19, 2012, 4:05 pm

Police are appealing for information after a number of arson attacks in Northumberland.

Overnight between Monday September 17 and Tuesday September 18 three wheelie bins were set on fire on Saint Michael’s Square in Alnwick.

Alnwick Neighbourhood Inspector Paul Truscott said: “Luckily no-one was injured in this incident but it could have been much more serious. We would remind people where possible to keep their bins secure, in a yard or garage, although I appreciate this is not always possible.”

Anyone with information about these fires is asked to contact officers in Alnwick on the 101 non-emergency number, or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously onĀ 0800 555 111. Crimestoppers may offer a reward for information which leads to an arrest and charge.
