Operation Tuleta arrest – man bailed

A man was arrested this morning, Thursday 20 September, by officers from Operation Tuleta, the investigation into criminal breaches of privacy which is being carried out in conjunction with MPS phone-hacking inquiries.
The 30-year-old man, a journalist [Tuleta arrest 14], was arrested at approximately 0730hrs at his home in South East London on suspicion of offences under Section 1 of the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and suspicion of handling stolen goods contrary to Section 22 of the Theft Act 1968. He was interviewed at a south London police station and has been bailed pending further inquiries to a date in December.
The arrest relates to a suspected conspiracy involving the gathering of data from stolen mobile phones and is not about seeking journalists to reveal confidential sources in relation to information that has been obtained legitimately.
