September 26, 2012, 9:11 am

Officers are appealing for information after a large number of high value tools were stolen from a car in St Helens.
The incident happened at around 2.50pm on Wednesday, 12 September, 2012, when a white van pulled up next to the victim’s Nissan Nivarra in the B&Q car park on Ravenhead Retail Park. An offender got out of the van and smashed the passenger side rear window of the car and stole more than £12,500 worth of Dewalt branded tools and equipment.
The items stolen include saws, torches, sanders, drills,
grinders, an inspection camera, heat gun, power tool accessories and laser levels.

The van was seen to head in the direction of St Helens Linkway towards the roundabout at the junction of Kirkland Street.

PC Andy Passey from Merseyside Police’s Serious Acquisitive Crime Team said: “We are keen to trace a white van that is believed to be either a Fiat Scudo or Peugeot Expert 96-06 model that was seen in the area around the time of the offence.
“We ask anyone with any information in connection to the incident to call us so we can take action against those responsible.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to ask anyone who has been offered these items to contact us in case they can help the investigation.”
Anyone who has been offered any of the stolen items or has any information about the incident is asked to call Merseyside Police on 0151 777 6843, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
