Man in critical condition

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being seriously assaulted in Ramsbottom.
At about 11pm on Friday 7 September 2012, police were called to the junction of Bridge Street and Bolton Street following reports of a fight.
Officers attended and found a 32-year-old man unconscious. He had been punched to the floor and then punched and kicked while he was down, including being kicked to the head.

He has been taken to hospital for treatment to a bleed on the brain and he remains in the intensive care unit at Hope Hospital, in a critical condition.
Two men, aged 21 and 23 have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and remain in police custody.
Officers are trying to trace another man, who is understood to have boarded a 472 bus to towards Bury, and are appealing to anyone who may be able to help locate this man to come forward.
