14yr old boy stabbed to death in London, 3 teens arrested on suspicion of murder

Police have confirmed the indetity of the 14yr old boy stabbed to death in Lee an area of London as Kevin Ssali of SE25

Officers were called to Burnt Ash Road at approx 21.45hrs on Saturday, 15 September to reports of a male stabbed at the location.

London Ambulance Service and the HEMS ambulance also attended the scene. The male was taken to hospital suffering stab injuries, where he later died.

Next of kin have been informed.

A post mortem is scheduled to take place at Greenwich Mortuary on Monday, 17 September at 1230hrs.

Initial reports suggest the victim was travelling on a route 202 bus through Lee Green, SE12. The bus’s destination was The Royal Standard in Charlton. As the victim alighted the bus in Burnt Ash Road he was attacked and stabbed. Officers are trying to establish if there was some sort of altercation on board the bus which led to the incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Dunne from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command leads the investigation. He said:

“I am appealing for anyone who travelled on the route 202 bus on its way through the Lee area just before 9.45pm on Saturday night to speak to my officers. Did you witness an altercation or argument involving a group of male youths?

“I would also like to speak to anyone who was in Burnt Ash Road, where the victim got off the bus. I need to know what the series of events were which culminated in a 14-year-old boy losing his life.”

= Three males, all believed aged in their mid to late teens, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. They remain in custody at a south London police station.
