Lancashire: Evofit appeal after woman is robbed in Skelmersdale

September 24, 2012, 11:30 am

Police have issued an Evofit image of a man they need to trace after a woman was robbed at knifepoint on a Skelmersdale footpath.

The offence took place around 3pm on Tuesday 28th August when the 26 year old victim was approached by two men as she emerged from the subway underneath Houghtons Road walking towards the concourse.

Both men have stopped in front of her and one man has asked for a lighter before demanding her mobile phone and money.

As the man repeated his demands his accomplice has opened his jacket to reveal a kitchen knife.

Frightened, the victim has thrown £100 in cash at the men which she was taking to the bank. Some of notes fell onto the floor and the men have then picked up the cash and fled up the bank towards the main roundabout on Birchgreen Road.

“I would also ask people to take a close look at the Evofit image of one of the offenders and if anybody thinks they recognise this man they should call Lancashire Police on 101”

DC Paul Mulrooney

DC Paul Mulrooney from West Lancashire CID said: “This is a serious offence which happened in broad daylight on a busy road so I would appeal to anybody that thinks they may have witnessed it or with any information to come forward.
