Lancashire: Appeal after elderly pedestrian dies in St Annes car park collision

Police are appealing for information after a 77 year old pedestrian died following a collision with a van in a St Annes car park yesterday (Monday 24th September).

The collision occurred around 11.25am in a private car park at Lemon Tree Court, New Road when Audrey Rimmer has been involved in a collision with a red Ford Transit Panel Van as she crossed the car park.

An investigation is underway into the circumstances of what has happened.

Sergeant Finn Quainton from the Force Road Policing Unit said: “Sadly Audrey sustained serious head injuries which later proved fatal in hospital.

“I would appeal to anybody that was in the vicinity of Lemon Tree Court on Monday morning that witnessed this collision to come forward and contact police.”
