Kent: Appeal after assault in Wincheap

Kent Police is investigating an incident in Wincheap in Canterbury at 6.35 am this morning near the Kings Head pub and is appealing for witnesses.

A 66-year-old man has been taken to William Harvey Hospital with a stab wound to his abdominal area.

A 61-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in police custody.

The two men are known to each other.

Prior to the assault, the man who has been arrested allegedly crashed his car into the victims car in what is believed to be a deliberate act.

The road is currently closed at either end of the industrial estate while the investigation continues.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Kent Police on 101.
