Detectives investigating an unprovoked assault in Wigan where a man suffered several serious facial injuries have released a CCTV image in a bid to trace the suspect.
At about 5.15am on Sunday 2 September 2012, a 23-year-old man was leaving the Indiependence nightclub on King Street West, after a night out with friends.
When he reached Crawford Street, nearby, he was set upon by the offender.

The attack left the victim with a broken nose, fractures to his eye sockets and cheekbones, a detached retina, severely swollen and bloodshot eyes, and cuts and bruising to his face and head.
He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Wigan hospital. He has since been discharged but regularly goes back to hospital for further treatment.
The offender is described as a white man, with short dark hair and of stocky build. He was wearing a charcoal grey suit.
Officers have identified a CCTV image, which has now been released to the public.
Detective Constable Craig Hurst said: “If it was not for the quick actions of door staff from Indiependence and two witnesses, the victim could have been in a worse condition, and his recovery could have been more problematic.
“This was a vicious, apparently unprovoked attack. We suspect the offender had also been to Indiependence) and we have released the image in the hope that someone who may know or recognises this man comes forward.
“This assault will no doubt have a lasting impact on this young mans life so I would urge anyone who could help can call us.”
