Hertfordshire Police: Appeal following an assault on a bus

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault on a bus which occurred on Sunday, September 16 between Edgware and Borehamwood.
The offence occurred on the 292 bus which left Edgware at around 10.10pm. During the journey to Manor Way in Borehamwood, whilst the victim sat next to the window, the offender touched her inappropriately, touched himself and made lewd gestures towards her. The offender got off the bus in Gateshead Road, Borehamwood.
The offender is described as an Asian man, aged in his early to mid-20s, 5ft 7ins tall and of a slight build. He had short brown hair and was wearing blue silky jogging bottoms, a dark blue jumper and a baseball cap. He was carrying a cricket bat with distinctive neon stickers.

Detective Sergeant Yvonne Carroll is investigating and said: “I would like to reassure members of the public that incidents of this nature are not a regular occurrence and officers are making numerous inquiries to identify the offender. As part of these investigations we would like to speak with any possible witnesses.
“There were a number of people on the bus during this journey and I am keen to speak to all of them as part of our investigations. If you were on the bus that evening or have any information which would assist us please contact police.”
