Clarks Shoe Shop robbed by armed raiders

September 10, 2012, 1:39 pm

Two men, armed with a hammer and knife, stole money from a shop in Cheetham Hill.

At around 12.40pm on Saturday 8 September 2012, the two men walked into the Clarks shoe shop at Manchester Fort Retail Park.

They threatened the shop assistant and demanded she gave them money before they took cash from the till.

They drove off in a silver Fiesta that had parked outside of the shop.

No one was hurt.

The first man is described as being white, of stocky build and was wearing a black balaclava and black hooded top.

The second man is described as being white, in his early 20s, of slim build and had short, brown, tight curly hair.  He wore a grey adidas track suit with a hooded top.

Detective Constable Paddy Connell from North Manchester CID said: “We believe this robbery is linked to one that took place at a Clarks shoe shop in Eccles on Saturday 1 September and we are working closely with our colleagues in Salford to find out who is responsible.

“I would ask anyone who may have seen a silver Fiesta pull up or drive off from outside the shop on Manchester Fort Retail Park at the time of the robbery to contact us.  We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have heard people boasting about these robberies.  The information you supply could lead us to make an arrest.”
