September 24, 2012, 2:41 pm
A PAEDOPHILE has been banned from contacting young girls online.
Julian Whiting, 50, of Langwood Close, Eaton Ford, St Neots, pleaded guilty to three counts of indecency with a child, one count of an indecent assault, one count of sexual activity with a child and one count of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity between January 2002 and August 2011.
The court heard Whiting took advantage of six girls, aged from eight to 13, during a nine-year period.

He would also send inappropriate messages to the girls online via MSN or Facebook chat telling them he wanted to kiss them and that he loved them.
Whiting admitted all charges at a hearing on August 21 at Huntingdon Crown Court and on Friday (September 21) he was sentenced at Peterborough Crown Court to a three-year community order, with a three-year supervision to include a sexual offences treatment programme.
Whiting was also given a Sexual Offences Prevention Order preventing him from having unsupervised contact of any kind with any child under the age of 16. He is also prohibited from communicating with a child under the age of 18 by means of letter, telephone, text messaging, email, social networking sites unless authorised by Public Protection or Social Care.
Detective Constable Becky Mainwood said: “One of his victims kept these terrible secrets to herself for more than 10 years.
“She only came forward because one of the other victims spoke out. All the girls involved were very brave and it is thanks to their courage this man has been brought to justice.”
