Two people have been arrested after shots were fired from a house in Miles Platting.

Just before 3.20am on Thursday 9 August 2012, police were called to New Street, Miles Platting to reports of shots being fired.

Police attended and secured the scene. Armed response officers attended and confirmed that there was evidence of a shotgun being fired.

Nobody was injured. Officers searched the property and 50 cannabis plants were seized.

A 49-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and firearms offences. They both remain in police custody for questioning.

Detective Sergeant Liam Boden said: “We are treating this as an isolated incident. I wish to reassure the community that extra patrols are in place and at this time we are not looking for anyone else.

“I would appeal for people to come forward with any information that they may have.”
