Teenager arrested in connection with sex assault on two women in south Manchester

A teenager has been arrested following the sexual assault of two women in south Manchester. 

The 15-year-old boy has arrested yesterday evening, Monday 6 August 2012, on suspicion of two counts of sexual and remains in police custody for questioning.

The arrest is in relation to the sexual assault of two women, both aged 18, on Barnhill Street at about 4.50am on Saturday 4 August 2012.

Superintendent Serena Kennedy, said: “We understand that these incidents have caused a lot of concern within the community and I want to reassure the public that we have made arrest.

“We have had a great response from the public, both from our appeal for information and from speaking to residents on the ground.

“We are in the early stages of the investigation and inquiries are ongoing and I would urge anyone with information, regardless of how insignificant you think it might be, to contact the police.”
