An Oldham newsagent who was robbed at knifepoint ran after the thief and prised the cash till back off him.
At about 3.50pm on Sunday 19 August, the offender walked into Gujar News on Hollins Road and threatened the shopkeeper with a knife, demanding that he hand over the till.
The victim refused and the offender went behind the till. Fearing for his safety, the victim jumped over the counter and the offender then grabbed the till.

He left along Copster Hill Road, but the victim then decided to go after the offender. He managed to catch up with him and managed to get the till back off him.
The offender then left. He is white, in his mid 30s, and of medium build. He was wearing a dark hooded top and had his face covered.
Detective Constable Simon Moyles said: “While we never encourage people to take the law into their own hands, it is thanks to the victim’s courage that nothing was eventually stolen.
“But we are still working hard to trace this man who thought that he could terrify a member of staff for cash.
“I would urge anyone who recalls seeing the man running away, or any other witnesses, to call us.”
