A man has been arrested after a man suffered stab wounds in Newton Heath.
At around 1.35pm on Thursday 16 August 2012, police were called to Shortwood Close, Newton Heath following reports a man had been attacked with a machete.
On arrival, officers discovered a 35-year-old man had suffered serious injuries to his hand, head and arm.

He remains in hospital where his condition is described as stable.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 Wounding and remains in police custody for questioning.
