3 arrested after city centre crash

Police have arrested three people after a car collided with a group as they crossed the road in Manchester city centre.
At around 2.30am on Tuesday 21 August 2012, police were called to John Dalton Street, following reports a silver Vauxhall Corsa had collided with three pedestrians before driving off.
It is believed the car turned left onto Deansgate and drove towards the south side of the city.

One of the pedestrians, a 28-year-old man, received serious head injuries and was taken to hospital. He remains in a critical but stable condition.
A 30-year-old man received a broken leg and a 32-year-old man received superficial injuries.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody for questioning.
A 17-year-old boy handed himself in to police today, Tuesday 28 August 2012, and was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in custody for questioning.
A 24-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and was bailed pending further inquiries until 24 October 2012.
